We believe that true discipleship calls us to commit ourselves in planned and systematic ways to address the injustices in our world. It challenges us to alter the rhythms and assumptions of our daily living to orient ourselves to God’s desire for a just world.

UnitingWorld is accredited by the Australian Government and is a member of the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID), which holds us to accountable to the highest standards of governance, financial transparency and effectiveness in our work. Your gift will be used to help where the need is greatest across UnitingWorld projects in poverty alleviation, gender equality, climate justice, disaster response and developing strong leadership in the global church to make a difference. In the event that funds raised exceed the amount needed for a certain project, funds will be used for other UnitingWorld projects.
Supporter Story: Why Renata became a Global Neighbour
New UnitingWorld Global Neighbour, Renata, began donating to international charities when her only income was $5 a week pocket money. "I could see that even $1 per week would make a difference to people living on less than $2 per day.”
She says, “There are people in this world living on a scale of poverty that I cannot even begin to understand, and it’s only luck that I was born here instead of there. As God has given to me, I feel obliged to pass some of that on to others.”
Renata became a Global Neighbour recently, and chose to support UnitingWorld because she likes the values we hold and the way we work with local communities.
Renata’s regular giving means we can commit long-term to our partners and they can plan ahead with confidence. We can also save money on fundraising.
Renata says it also helps her be more intentional and sustainable in giving. “I’ve set up my regular giving so it comes out of my account on the same day that my pay goes in so I don’t even notice it going. Regular giving enables me to plan in the same way I manage my other expenses.”
