How your action makes a difference

Every choice matters. Whether you’re cutting food waste, rethinking transport, or reducing energy use, your commitment helps lower emissions, conserve resources and create a fairer, more sustainable world for all.

Food production creates one-third of global emissions, with beef and lamb having the largest footprint. Skipping beef and lamb for 40 days can halve your food-related emissions while saving water and forests. And with, food waste accounting for 8–10% of global emissions, planning meals and reducing waste means less methane pollution and a healthier planet. Every meal choice matters!

Transport makes up 25% of global CO2 emissions, with cars a major contributor. Swapping car rides for walking, cycling, or public transport cuts carbon emissions and reduces pollution. Fewer car trips mean cleaner air, healthier communities and less congestion. If 1 in 5 people switched to greener transport, millions of tonnes of emissions could be avoided every year.

Household energy use drives nearly 20% of global emissions. Simple changes like coldwater washes, air drying, and reducing heating/cooling can cut energy use by up to 90%. If every household adjusted their thermostat by just 2°C, global energy demand would drop dramatically. Less energy use means fewer fossil fuels burned, cleaner air and a more sustainable future.

The fashion industry alone creates 10% of global emissions, while mass production depletes forests, water and energy. So avoiding new purchases reduces waste and saves resources. Repairing, reusing, and buying second-hand cuts landfill waste and pollution. Every product skipped means fewer fossil fuels burned, helping slow climate change and reducing the strain on natural ecosystems. Small changes make a big impact!
